A group of unknown suspects travelling in the sedan then allegedly opened fire on the CIT vehicle using high calibre weapons.

The driver under attack stopped his vehicle and attempted to reverse but the suspects in their sedan tried to block him.

However, the driver of the security vehicle managed to escape in the vehicle unharmed, while the suspects, aborting their mission, fled the scene in their sedan.

Police spokesperson Captain Justice Hlabisa said a case has been opened at KwaMsane SAPS.

Hlabisa said no injuries were reported and no money was robbed from the failed heist.
