National cash-in-transit workers' strike sees Richards Bay employees down tools
Cash-in-transit workers affiliated to the Motor Transport Workers’ Union (MTWN) have downed tools at their Alton office in Richards Bay today (Friday).
The workers accused the employer of unfair retrenchments in terms of Section 189 of the Labour Law.

The union’s regional convener, Zakhele Mathenjwa said there would be no movement of money until their demands are met.
“This is a national demonstration in which we are of the view that the employer is being unfair, and as we speak our national leadership is in talks with the employer in Durban,” said Mathenjwa.
