New truck staging area at Richards Bay port terminals to reduce congestion

Major development in reducing truck congestion in and around Richards Bay

A new truck staging area and the pending reconstruction of two conveyor belt systems, previously destroyed by fire, are some recent developments at the Richards Bay port terminal to reduce long queues of side-tipper trucks on public roads.

In a positive move last week, Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) in Richards Bay officially opened the long-awaited truck staging area expected to accommodate around 300 to 400 side-tipper trucks inside the port.
