WATCH: Festive season beach readiness on track

From ongoing dredging to replenish sand, to strong emergency service personnel presence, beach readiness at Richards Bay's Alkantstrand is on track

DREDGING and rebuilding of the beach at Alkantstrand continues unabated, with clear progress being made ahead of this weekend’s scheduled reopening to bathers.

Working around the clock, tonnes of dredge spoil has been recovered through the pipeline, as the beach starts taking shape for the upcoming festive season.

On the safety side, City of uMhlathuze Fire & Rescue personnel have a presence at Alkantstrand to handle any emergencies that may arise.
