Gift of the Givers provides relief to Nkandla community

Staying true to its mission of improving humanity, members of the Gift of the Givers Foundation team spent Tuesday assisting the devastated residents of Nkandla.

It has been a devastating festive season for the people of the community – whose homes were destroyed after a storm left a trail of destruction last Friday, while a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning claimed the lives of eight people from one family.

Working in close collaboration with the Nkandla deputy mayor and municipal manager, the Gift of the Givers team ensured food hampers were distributed to residents in need.

This included the families of the taxi accident victims.

“In an attempt to restore some hope to the people affected by the storm, the Gift of the Givers team supplied essential items like food and blankets.

“We have partnered with municipal officials in Nkandla to ensure the aid reaches those in need,” said Gift of the Givers Foundation community liaison officer Bilall Jeewa.
