Drug dealer suspects nabbed in Ballito

Two suspects were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine powder and crystal meth

Two alleged drug dealers were arrested after being found in possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R42 000.

The arrest was made by the Ilembe District Intelligence unit during an operation in Ballito on Sunday.

Ilembe Cluster police spokesperson Captain Alex Thomson said police reacted on tip-off information of a suspected drug syndicate operating in Ballito.

“The first suspect (29) was found in possession of 23 individually wrapped portions of cocaine powder and three sachets of crystal meth, to the value of approximately R20 000.

“The second suspect (30) was found in possession of 24 individually wrapped portions of cocaine powder and two sachets of crystal meth, to the value of approximately R22 000,” said Thomson.

He added that both suspects were charged with possession of cocaine powder and possession of crystal meth.

“The duo is expected to appear in KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court in due course,” he said.
