Cash-in-transit vehicle ambushed on R618 near Hlabisa

A CASH-in-transit (CIT) vehicle was ambushed on the R618 in the Burden area between Nongoma and Hlabisa earlier today (Friday).

According to reports, the attack occurred at around 2pm.

All services attended the crime scene, which led to the closure of the road for some time.

A police source confirmed the incident, saying it occurred in the KwaHlabisa area towards Nongoma.

At the time of publication, there was no confirmation of injuries or whether or not money was stolen.
