Arrest after lifeguard house is vandalised in Richards Bay
A woman has been arrested for alleged vandalism of the lifeguard house at Alkantstrand in Richards Bay
Security guards at Alkantstrand apprehended a female suspect caught in the act of vandalising the lifeguard house on Wednesday night.
Windows were smashed on the ground and upper floors of the building, but she was arrested before being able to enter, if that was her intention.

City of uMhlathuze Deputy Mayor Christo Botha said damage was minimal thanks to the speedy response, and that the person apprehended was reportedly well known to police.
“She is apparently homeless and is commonly seen in Veldenvlei, and I understand has previously been reported for shoplifting.
“One trusts that if she needs help from social services, this will be done.”
