Tea on the Terrace 2025: Licensed to thrill

Celebrity guest Rob Bentele will join guests for this spectacular event that will leave you shaken, not stirred!

The date has been set for Tea on the Terrace 2025, which will leave you shaken, not stirred!

The Bond Spectacular-themed event will host celebrity guest speaker Rob Bentele, who will be your James Bond for the morning.

This 007, who won Survivor South Africa: Island of Secrets in 2019, will be joining guests for tea rather than martinis on Saturday, 31 May from 10am at the sponsored venue, Umfolozi Hotel Casino Convention Resort’s Jabulani Dome.

Rob epitomises overcoming the ultimate test of body, mind, spirit and emotion – a persevering and overcoming spirit synonymous with cancer survivors.

Zululand’s most prestigious tea party, Dice’s (Do I Care Enough?) 11th annual Tea on the Terrace fundraiser supports cancer patients, survivors and their families, as well as ongoing Dice projects.

Last year’s event saw 400 women in attendance and raised R100 000. This year promises another top-notch entertainment line-up to wow the crowd.

How it works

Groups of friends, family and businesswomen meet in the morning to decorate their tables in their own unique style.

This transforms the venue into a bustling space filled with excited chatter, sparkling tableware and blooming centrepieces.

Guests dress to match their table themes – leading to more fun and laughter.

Participants stand a chance to win the coveted Ubuntu Floating Trophy, symbolising the spirit of ubuntu. In the words of Tea on the Terrace patron and Zululand Observer founder Regina Anthony, ‘There is a heartbeat reverberating throughout Zululand known as ubuntu. This concept reflects humanity towards others, encapsulated as ‘I am because we are.'”

Last year’s best table was awarded to Umfolozi Casino’s ‘F1 Winning Team’, whose team spirit, matching outfits and table décor stood out.
