Zero tolerance for reckless driving over long weekend

Law enforcement officers will be out in full force, cracking down on reckless drivers in uMhlathuze this Easter long weekend

Determined to address the holiday road carnage death toll, the only eggs the uMhlathuze Traffic Department will be looking for this Easter weekend are the bad ones.

Law enforcement officers will be out in full force, cracking down on reckless drivers, with officers manning daily roadblocks and monitoring key routes.

“There will be zero tolerance for those who violate the law,” warned uMhlathuze Deputy Mayor Christo Botha.

“Driving under the influence of alcohol or any intoxicating substances, as well as reckless driving, and any conduct that puts lives at risk will be met with the full force of the law.

“Those who choose to act irresponsibly should not expect mercy or leniency from law enforcement officers,” he said.

This warning comes after a spate of accidents and cases of reckless driving this week.
