Save a life by donating blood

Did you know that every time you donate blood, you could save up to three lives?

Blood donors are encouraged to share on Sunday, 1 June, from 11am to 4pm at The Abundant Life Centre, 2 Bottle Brush Bend, Veldenvlei.

“We have a shortage of blood. Life is fleeting — and when you’re in critical care and you need a pint of blood, you’ll understand the value of life,” said Richards Bay community activist, Pastor Ivan Naidoo.

“It’s only through voluntary donations that we save lives. Every pint saves three. Donate a pint today.”

A pastor at The Abundant Life Centre, Naidoo’s life changed when he was at death’s door last year and needed blood.

“I had to wait for two pints. You’re waiting — and busy dying,” he said.

Naidoo has donated 91 pints and tries to give four times a year.

The SA National Blood Service (SANBS) will be coming right to the community’s doorstep to set up.
