Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma has extended condolences to the families of the victims and wished those who are injured a speedy recovery.
“Most roads in the area have been affected, especially around Gopalall Hurbans Road. We urge motorists to be patient as the scene is still active. Saving the injured, and recovery processes are under way,” said Duma.
IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS Search and Rescue have been on the scene since around 6.30am.
Confirming the three deceased and 12 seriously injured, IPSS Medical Rescue’s Kelsey-Jae Meyrick said the scene is still active so the situation may change.
“[There is an] unknown total number of minor injuries as some left the scene privately prior to EMS’ arrival,” said Meyrick.
