Fast food chain brings joy and burgers to Linzwa Foundation soup kitchen

Disadvantaged children treated to fast food meal, supporting Linzwa Foundation’s community soup kitchen efforts.

For most people, going to a restaurant or ordering their favourite fast food is the norm – but for those from disadvantaged backgrounds, it is a luxury.

Honouring the promise it made in 2021 to continue supporting the Linzwa Foundation’s soup kitchen, Pedros Chicken made a special delivery recently.

The fast food franchise visited the premises to treat the children and community to a delicious meal.

Reflecting on the first visit, Barbra Nkambule said, “It touched my heart to hear one of the gogos say it was her first time eating a burger.”

The visit is more than just a meal, but a heart-warming gesture to ensure those in disadvantaged communities experience one of life’s simple pleasures.

Linzwa Foundation representative Zandile Memela said, “We truly appreciate the support. Their visit has brought the restaurant to our kids, which they would not have been able to experience.”

Additionally, the restaurant donated numerous loaves of bread to the soup kitchen to assist with meals for the approximately 100 people they care for.

With non-profits struggling to keep their doors open, these acts of compassion give people hope for the future.
