Two severely injured in Melmoth crash

Two seriously injured after car overturns in Melmoth

TWO people suffered serious injuries when the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned on the R34 in the Melmoth area last Sunday.

The driver reportedly lost control on the busy route and careened into a rock face before overturning multiple times in a devastating sequence that left debris scattered across the road.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance spokesperson Craig Botha said their paramedics arrived to find two patients with serious injuries requiring immediate medical intervention.

“The team’s swift assessment and stabilisation protocols proved crucial in what could have been a far more tragic outcome. Both patients were successfully stabilised and transported under emergency conditions to hospital facilities equipped to handle their complex injuries,” said Botha.

The investigation into the exact cause of the vehicle’s loss of control continues, with authorities working to determine the cause of the accident.
