Heavy downpours forecast for Zululand
Scorching Sunday to end with severe thunderstorms in some parts of the Zululand region
Severe thunderstorms have been forecast for parts of the Zululand region this (Sunday) afternoon until tomorrow (Monday) evening.
The areas that will be affected include: Big Five Hlabisa, Nongoma, Nkandla, Mtubatuba and Mthonjaneni.
“A surface trough over the interior, along with a coastal low along the south coast and an upper air trough over the central interior will result in scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
“Some of these thunderstorms are expected to become severe over most parts of KZN today but over the extreme north-western parts tomorrow, and are expected to be accompanied by heavy downpours, damaging winds and excessive lightning and large amounts of small hail,” the SA Weather Service stated.
Weather forecast for today and tomorrow: 23-24 November
Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the south-east today, and in the north-east tomorrow.
