Emily Rollo: The master elf behind the Meerensee Christmas garden

Master elf Emily Rollo brings Christmas magic to Meerensee for charity this festive season

ZO’s charity arm Dice (Do I Care Enough?) got to meet Santa and the Grinch on Wednesday, and for a moment I felt like a little girl again, completely lost in the joy and wonder of the Christmas Garden Lights project.

Meeting Santa’s helper, Emily Rollo, was truly the highlight of the evening. Emily is the star behind this beautiful initiative and has an incredible passion for making a difference in the lives of children in need in the Zululand region.

As her dad, Simon, shared, Emily was the mastermind behind the entire Christmas Garden Lights project.

Although Emily may appear quiet and reserved, often working behind the scenes, her impact reaches far and wide.

Planning for this project began as early as February, and the time, love, and attention to detail placed into every corner and wall of the Christmas garden is nothing short of spectacular.

The unwavering support of Emily’s family in bringing this vision to life is phenomenal.

Please make every effort to visit the Christmas Garden and support Emily’s charity drives by bringing a book, puzzle or toy (new or pre-loved) as your entrance fee – that will go to the under-privileged via Dice/Suzuki, Archways Centre and iKaya Likababa.

Dice pray God’s blessing over Emily’s life as she selflessly strives to improve the lives of children in every way she can.

The photos do not do this experience justice, you need to be there in person!

Visit their Christmas garden wonderland at 43 Musselcracker, Meerensee, from 15 to 24 December, between 7pm and 9pm.
