St Lucia cycle ride calls for wildlife supporters

Cyclists called to join100km dirt track ride to St Lucia on Saturday

Always a sucker for punishment for a good cause, Richards Bay’s Miriam Otto is roping in cyclists to join her on a 100km dirt track ride to St Lucia on Saturday.

Having enjoyed a birthday milestone on Wednesday and been totally spoilt, it’s time to give back through a ‘rand for kilometre’ sponsorship to The White Eye Foundation.

This fund assists with expenses related to wildlife care and rehabilitation.

Miriam Otto is ready for her first 100km ride

“I know it is going to be long and hot, but I am already getting support from riders from Mtunzini and Empangeni.

“We will meet at the Engen garage in Veldenvlei for the 5am start and hope to be back at around noon, with regular stops on the route,” said Miriam.

“We will have a back-up vehicle to take care of casualties and emergencies, but everyone must be well supplied with drinks and refreshments.

“This ride is a first for me, and hopefully it will bring the caring wildlife community together in an exciting way.”

Miriam can be contacted on 083 6513491.
