Schoolchildren benefit from dignity drive

Show You Care with Underwear campaign reaches Zululand schools

Restoring dignity to children is at the heart of the Show You Care with Underwear campaign led by the NPO, Shabach Cares.

Running for several years, the programme recently saw 400 items of underwear distributed to children at Floraton Primary School in Aquadene, Nyalazi Primary School in Mtubatuba, and the Alpha Gen Youth Movement in Brackenham.

Leading Shabach Cares, Vee Yankasamy said the campaign was created to assist vulnerable children who often go without basic necessities.

“Many people overlook how important basic items like underwear are for a child’s dignity and well-being. This drive is about showing children that they are loved, valued and cared for.”

Shabach Cares expressed gratitude to community members and donors who contributed to the campaign.

They are collecting more donations to distribute around 100 sets to children in Gingindlovu.

The organisation runs community upliftment projects supporting disadvantaged families, as well as a feeding scheme in Brackenham, Aquadene and for job seekers in Richards Bay CBD.
