Bay port terminal implements operational measures ahead of 30 June marches

Anti-immigration marches planned for next week Tuesday, 30 June. Richards Bay port terminals puts contingency plans in place

Plans are in place to minimise disruptions to Port of Richards Bay operations ahead of the planned national shutdown on Tuesday, 30 June.

In a communique to customers on Friday, Transnet Port Terminals has instituted operational times for all inbound trucks, among other measures.

“The cut-off time for all inbound RMTs (trucks) will be 6pm on Monday, 29 June.

Operations related to truck intake will resume at 6am on Wednesday, 1 July,” the communique reads.

This comes amid planned anti-illegal immigration marches across the country on Tuesday.
