WATCH: Hundreds heed call to cash in on e-waste in Ngwelezane

Local recyclers encouraged to turn their e-waste into money and help save the environment.

Hundreds of residents from Ngwelezane heeded the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment’s (DFFE) call to convert their e-waste into money and help save the environment.

The call is led by DFFE Deputy Minister Bernice Swarts, accompanied by Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) MEC Musa Zondi and City of uMhlathuze Mayor Xolani Ngwezi.

The delegation is engaging with residents around the importance of selling back their e-waste during an imbizo being held at Ngwelezane community hall.

The entourage also visited a local youth-owned waste management and recycling company, Uthando Solutions, based in Empangeni.
