Mahlabathini man arrested on suspicion of bestiality
National Council of SPCAs’ (NSPCA) Special Projects Unit (SPU) investigates case of alleged bestiality in Mahlabathini
A man in Mahlabathini, Ulundi was last week arrested on suspicion of bestiality, with 15 goats taken in for safekeeping.
The arrest came after extensive investigations by the National Council of SPCAs’ (NSPCA) Special Projects Unit (SPU).
The NSPCA manager: communications unit, Jacques Peacock, said it is believed that at least three of the 15 goats had been sexually abused.
“A man who works as a teacher was taken into custody. Disappointingly, the control prosecutor of the Ulundi Magistrate’s Court declined to enrol the matter, pending further investigation,” said Peacock.
“The suspect was released from police custody and will be summoned to court once the SAPS have finalised further investigations.”
