Snowy is safely back home

R25 000 reward split between three spotters

JUST over a week after she was last seen, Snowy – the beloved pet cat with a R25 000 reward tag on her head – was reunited with her Mtunzini owners on Sunday afternoon.

Christopher and Kiki Elsworth rushed to the grand reunion after Snowy had been spotted and watched over by three residents, who were surely among many ‘bounty hunters’ on the lookout.

Her disappearance, and the generous offer for her safe return, made headline news in the village, with fears growing about her safety with each passing day – and the reward money also growing by significant amounts.

But the effort and financial incentive paid dividends, much to the joy and relief of her owners.
“We split the reward between the three people who found her and waited to make sure she didn’t leave the vicinity until we got there,” said Christopher.

“She had made her way halfway back home and after digging around we found her hiding under a Wendy house.
“She was a little dirty but looks in good health – just hungry, and she ate three helpings of wet food.”
