Zululanders celebrate their heritage at festival

LOCALS enjoyed a vibrant family day filled with history and entertainment at the annual Mandulo Heritage Festival held over the weekend at The Sunbird in Gingindlovu.


The festival kicked off with a commemoration of the life and legacy of King Cetshwayo kaMpande Zulu.

The programme featured performances by local schools, with pupils bringing history to life through music, performances and educational presentations.

Adding entertainment to the programme is the eShowe High School marimba band


Historian Cedric Dunn also led engaging history lessons, giving festival-goers an opportunity to learn more about the rich heritage of the Zulu kingdom.
