WATCH: Scholar transport catches fire in Empangeni

School transport taxi catches fire with several pupils inside on Durnford Road in Empangen

TWO schoolchildren were treated for serious injuries while 21 others suffered minor injuries when the taxi in which they were traveling caught fire.

The incident occurred on Durnford Road at Empangeni Rail shortly before 7:30am today (Monday).

All emergency services attended the scene, and the fire was extinguished.
