NYANZA LIGHT METALS VACANCY: COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER (CLO) X2 Department: Operations Location: Richards Bay Employment Category: Operational Support / Coordination About the Role Nyanza Light Metals is seeking to appoint a Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to support day-to-day community engagement, stakeholder liaison, grievance coordination, and Corporate Social Investment (CSI) support activities within the surrounding communities. The role will serve as an important link between Nyanza Light Metals, the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) engagement structures, operational teams, community stakeholders, and approved stakeholder forums. The successful candidate will support transparent, respectful, and governance- aligned engagement in accordance with the approved Nyanza Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP), the RBIDZ engagement protocols, and applicable stakeholder engagement frameworks. Key Responsibilities The Community Liaison Officer will be responsible for:
•Supporting day-to-day community engagement and stakeholder liaison activities.
•Participating in community meetings, stakeholder forums, izimbizo, roadshows, awareness campaigns, and approved engagement activities.
•Acting as a first point of contact for community queries, concerns, complaints, grievances, and operational feedback received through approved channels.
•Assisting with grievance intake, documentation, registration, tracking, follow-up, escalation, and closure support.
•Maintaining accurate records of stakeholder engagements, grievances, attendance registers, issue logs, and engagement outcomes.
•Supporting communication relating to construction-phase activities and potential community impacts, including traffic, noise, dust, safety concerns, access restrictions, and operational disruptions.
•Assisting with communication relating to local employment, labour sourcing, procurement participation, and contractor engagement processes through the approved RBIDZ and Nyanza Light Metals channels.
•Supporting approved CSI initiatives, community development programmes, awareness campaigns, and stakeholder outreach activities.
•Escalating emerging community tensions, misinformation, stakeholder concerns, reputational risks, labour-related concerns, or operational issues to management.
•Representing Nyanza Light Metals professionally, respectfully, ethically, and with cultural sensitivity in all community and stakeholder interactions. Minimum Requirements
•Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field.
•Minimum of 2 to 5 years` experience in community liaison, stakeholder engagement, CSI coordination, social performance, or a related stakeholder-facing role.
•Practical exposure to grievance handling, issue tracking, stakeholder documentation, and community engagement administration.
•Knowledge of Richards Bay community dynamics, stakeholder structures, local governance environments, and surrounding communities will be a strong advantage.
•Experience within IDZs, municipalities, infrastructure projects, mining, construction, or industrial environments will be advantageous.
•Training or exposure in stakeholder engagement, grievance handling, social performance, or community liaison will be advantageous. Key Competencies The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

•Ability to operate within formal governance structures and protocol-driven environments.
•High levels of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, neutrality, and cultural sensitivity.
•Fluency in isiZulu and English will be highly desirable.
•Ability to work with community forums, traditional leadership structures, local stakeholders, operational teams, RBIDZ representatives, and external engagement stakeholders.
