ON the evening of 23 March we experienced a power outage in Birdswood from around 7pm.
The thunder showers earlier that evening meant that it was hot and fairly uncomfortable.
After midnight I drove to Meerensee to drop a friend, only to come across the electrical department of uMhlathuze Municipality working hard in the uncomfortable heat to restore electrical services to our suburb.
I thanked the guys onsite for an excellent effort and dropped a 2L Coke as a token of our appreciation.
