Sagewood Preparatory School is a small independent school situated on the grounds of a polo field just outside Gingindlovu.

Since opening in 1997, Sagewood has grown into a close-knit school that caters for around 100 pupils from Grade RRR to Grade 7.

Sagewood is an English medium, co-educational school, where pupils are able to enjoy a variety of sports in a rural atmosphere.

Learning takes place in a family environment with strong Christian based ethos. With smaller classes and experienced, caring teachers, each pupil is given the attention and encouragement they need to reach their full potential.

Sagewood Preparatory School is a member of the Independent Schools of Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and is registered with the KwaZulu Natal Department of Education. Sagewood has been awarded full accreditation from Umalusi as from 1 November 2018.

Music & Art

Sagewood recognises the importance of the arts in a child’s life.  Art and music are part of the school curriculum, from Grade 0 to Grade 7.

Dedicated teachers in both fields, provide an appreciation and an opportunity for the learners to explore many avenues.

The Choir performs at assembly and other functions.  Learners are taught to read music, using recorders.  Movement is incorporated into lessons and the learners delight in using talents they have learned during these lessons, to impress their peers at the Annual Talent Show!  All leaners are encouraged to participate in the Eisteddfod Speech and Drama Festivals.
