Full sports programme entertains at Felixton
The school played host to eShowe High, Mtunzini Primary and a combined Lochinver and Saint Hughes primary schools from north of London, England.
A MIXED bag of sporting codes and teams battled it out on the fields of Felixton on Saturday.
The school played host to eShowe High, Mtunzini Primary and a combined Lochinver and Saint Hughes primary schools from north of London, England.
The touring team included Zululand in their South African Rugby Tour and their first team played Felixton College, while the second team played Mtunzini Primary first team.
In the eShowe High School fixtures both the U14 and second eShowe netball teams won their games, 15-4 and 16-6 respectively.
The Felixton boys U14 hockey team won 4-0 and their seconds won 2-1, while the Felixton girls second team lost narrowly with the score 1-0 in eShowe’s favour.
Three rugby games were played.
The eShowe U14 team won 36-10 as did their U16 team, 57-0.
In the main match of the day, Felixton beat eShowe 36-7.
The Mtunzini Primary School proved too strong for the international visitors beating them 40-5, but the tables were turned when the internationals ran riot beating Felixton 66-0.
Although the score was disappointing for the players, the Felixton team showed true sportsmanship throughout the game and never gave up until the last whistle.
