THE City of uMhlathuze has shown its support of women’s rugby by donating brand new tracksuits to the Richards Bay ladies’ team.

This as the dynamic team prepares to host their first home game at Richards Bay Rugby Club against Varsity College in the 2025 Premier Durban League, which kicks off on 10 May.

“Under the expert guidance of coaches Lucas Roos and Trevor Montgomery, the team has gone from strength to strength.

“Their efforts, with the dedication of players hailing from across the region including as far as Mtubatuba, has built a tight-knit, competitive squad hungry for success,” the city commented.

The team trains every Monday and Wednesday at the Richards Bay Rugby Club, and new players are always encouraged.

“As the team sets its sights on winning the 2025 Premier League, they are still actively seeking additional sponsorship to help fuel their journey to the top.
