RICHARDS Bay FC fans have named the uMhlathuze Stadium ‘The Slaughterhouse’, and today’s feast – with chilli – was courtesy of Chippa United, who were thrashed 4-1 in this Carling Cup first round encounter.
There was simply no stopping the Rich Boyz, who scored three super goals in the first half and one in second half added time.

Most pleasing was the interplay and speed of the front men and tenacity in midfield, with Ntlonelo Bomelo handed the first goal on a plate after 5 minutes thanks to a brilliantly weighted through pass from Siyabonga Nzama.
Two minutes later the lead was doubled when Knox Mutizwa, who sparkled throughout the game, latched onto the ball from a corner (2-0).
He would get a second half goal an hour later when he smashed home a delicate short pass from Bomelo.
The Chilli Boys did get one back after a deflection from an NRB defender beat keeper Ian Otieno.
It was 3-1 at the break with Richards Bay totally dominant, but unable to increase their tally in the second half, which began with Otieno pulling off a terrific save low to his left.
NRB remained in cruise control and were able to make plenty of changes, one of whom was Lundi Mahala, who was fed a magnificent ball from Sbani Mntungwa and swept it past Chippa’s stopper, Stanley Nwabali (4-1).
They remain unbeaten after three home games, and chairman Jomo Biyela called on fans to arrive in numbers for the next Betway Premiership game against Orbit College on Friday 17 October.
