Facelift for eShowe care centre

Helpers step in and clean-up senior citizens centre.

IT was a red letter day for the Ntumeni Care Centre for senior citizens outside eShowe when a group of uMhlathuze Water staff descended on the centre to give it a facelift.

The buildings were painted, new curtains hung and a new washing machine and stove donated by the water utility.

For the residents at the centre, groceries, nappies and clothing were also much appreciated.

Two new flat-screen television sets were also donated to the two wards in the centre.

A final touch was the planting of a vegetable garden and gardening equipment handed over, thus allowing the centre to produce its own home-grown food.

Nkosi Ntombi Dube thanked the organisation for the donation, saying it will go a long way to ease the life of the residents.
