Richards Bay football fan ready for Bafana clash in Mexico

Local football fan to watch the Bafana Bafana 2026 Fifa World Cup match against South Korea live in Mexico

Richards Bay’s Innocent Khanyile is one of thousands who will watch Bafana Bafana play South Korea from the stands at Estadio BBVA (Monterrey Stadium) in Guadalupe.

Kick-off is 3am tomorrow (Thursday) South African time.

Khanyile, a diehard Richards Bay FC football fan, is among 19 avid soccer supporters who were flown to Mexico to watch Bafana Bafana play their final 2026 Fifa World Cup group stage match.

Khanyile will proudly represent the Natal Rich Boyz after being named a winner of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture’s Mzansi to the World Cup Lucky Fan competition.

The young man, who named the uMhlathuze Stadium as ‘the slaughterhouse’ for visiting teams, just hopes Bafana pull off something stunning and get through the group stages.
