XL Experience defeat 3 for Joy 5-0 in Springs league match
U15 teams put on a show at the Kwa-Thema Sport Complex on August 29 at the Springs Local Football Association League.
Kwa-Thema – U15 teams Xl Experince and 3 for Joy played head-to-head at the Kwa-Thema Sport Complex on August 29. The game was part of the Springs Local Football Association League.
Xl Experience currently occupies third position on the log. The thrilling game kept coaches on the edge of their seats, cheering and directing their players.
Each team displayed eagerness to win. 3 for Joy coach Bongani Motaung described the game as experiential for his team.
“To compete with U15s I use my U13 players who are still learning and adjusting to competitive soccer games at a high phase.
“Most of my U15 players are attending school on weekends, which is why we have resorted to U13s,” he said.
He highlighted that the game was slow paced in the second half due to players getting tired.
He added that when their opponents scored the second goal in the second half, it demotivated his players from striving to play well.
“This is part of learning, I am not disappointed that we lost. I take this as a learning curve and a chance to learn from our mistakes. Practice will yield better results,” he cited.
The game played in favour of Xl Experience, winning with a score of 5-0. Their coach, Buhle Mngomezulu display gratefulness towards his team, saying they played a beautiful game. The coach expressed that he was not happy with the first half of the game.

“My team undermined their opponents, which led to no goal scoring opportunities in the first half. We went to half time with a 0-0 score when I actually expected two goals,” he expressed.
During team talk, the coach encouraged his players to increase the pace and keep their eyes on the ball.
The team returned from halftime with a new mindset
“The boys ran more, played strategically in the second half. Changes made in the second half made a huge difference,” he said.
The coach concluded by mentioning that they need to work hard to ensure that they are ready to play against the two teams occupying the top of the log.
