Tsakane tuck shop owner arrested

Tsakane tuck shop owner was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm

Another suspect was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Tsakane.

Tsakane police spokesman Captain Petros Mabuza says a 26- year-old Somalian tuck shop owner was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and attempted murder on Monday.

He says it is alleged that members of the Tsakane Black Business Forum went to his tuck shop at Tsakane Extension Six and instructed him to close his shop.

The tuck shop owner allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot at two members of the forum.

The victims suffered injuries and were taken to Pholosong Hospital for treatment.

Thirteen members of the forum were arrested for public violence and are expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
