Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says on Friday at around 11pm, robbers stormed into tenants’ rooms in Everest.
He says the suspects demanded cash from the two victims who they found inside the first room before taking out a firearm and shooting one of the victims in the foot.
The suspects then proceeded to the next room where they also demanded cash and cell phones from the victims.
“Because the victims said they did not have what the suspects demanded from them, they took out a hammer and beat one of the victims on the head before proceeding to the next room,” says Ramphora.
The third set of victims were robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and a TV by the suspects who fled the scene.
The injured victims were later taken to the Far East Rand Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating house robbery against the suspects and appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of the suspects.
