New show Kasi Cribs to be on TV

A first for local television, Kasi Cribs: Edladleni will showcase township homes in South Africa.

KwaThema and Daveyton are some of the most popular and big townships which will be featured on the show.

These houses are owned by ordinary citizens who are fortunate enough to be able to turn their houses into their own stylish palaces.

The show will be aired on February 1 at 6.30pm on eKasi+ and will be presented by the dynamic and adventurous Siyabonga Radebe.

He is known for acting in District 9 and Generations, as well as being a comedian and presenter.

KwaThema resident Nomusa Dube said she is happy that the program will show the world that there are people who live in townships and can still afford to own big houses.

“I believe that the show will encourage people not to move to the suburbs but live their luxury lives in the townships,” said Dube.

However, another resident Nkosinathi Nkosi is not excited about the show.

He asks why TV shows only feature people with good lives in the townships and not showcase the suffering which thousands of people who live in the shacks go through everyday.
