Police get medals
The Brakpan Cluster police held a medal ceremony on Friday in Hiedelberg.
The event was aimed at rewarding the police officers who have stood the test of time and continued to serve the communities while also protecting them.
They were given medals for their 10, 20 and 30 years of service in the police department.
One of the medal recipients, Segearnt Lebo Ramayisa from the Tsakane police station received a medal for his 10 years of service.
He said getting a medal encourages him to do his job with more pride and continue showing respect to the community.
In the 20 years of service category, two police were given medals while two police received medals for their 30 years of service.
Speaking on behalf of the Tsakane police Captain Petros Mabuza said the recognition of the hard work done by the police brings smiles to their faces.
“Our police work hard to ensure that there is peace in our communities despite the challenges that they are faced with,” said Mabuza.
He encouraged them to continue working for the protection of their communities and ensure victory against crime in the areas where they serve.
