Organisations treat children to something different

Daveyton - The Daveyton Book Club, Low Beat Media, Touching Hearts Organisation and the Ekurhuleni Handball Academy, took 30 underprivileged children on a trip to the Bunny Park in Benoni last Friday.

The organisations felt the need to treat the children to something different during the school holidays.

Kwandile Skosana (23) from the Daveyton Book Club explained that when they interacted with young children at the club, they came to realise many of them have not been to watch a movie or explore a theme park.

“We want to have more of these trips during school holidays to broaden their horizons and to educate them about the many beautiful places around them,” says Skosana.

The children were entertained at the park with indigenous games and engaged in educational talks.

Thulani Nyandeni (34) believes if more people became involved, more children would be able to attend the outings.

“We want to take more children from the community to places they have not been before,” says Nyandeni.
