Playground is now safe and clean
Tsakane - Last Saturday, the Brakpan/ Tsakane DA Constituency cleaned the playground at Vuyani Primary School in Tsakane.
Members were commemorating Women’s Month and giving back to the community.
The school has benefited from the party’s assistance in the past, as they painted the school’s classrooms for Mandela Day a few years ago.
Principal Mpumelelo Ruiters expressed his gratitude to the DA and praised the wonderful work they have done for the Grade R learners of the school.
“I’m very happy they took time out to come and assist us with the playground, now the children can play in a clean and safe environment,” he says.
The playground was in a poor state with parts of the jungle gym broken and unsafe for children to play on.
Eunice Mabuya (41), chairperson of the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network (Dawn), says it is imperative that children’s safety comes first and the area in which they play is kept in a safe condition at all times.
“It’s the responsibility of every community member to keep the children’s environment clean and safe,” says Mabuya.
The party will also repair the broken jungle gym and plant a garden in the near future.
