According to the Tsakane police spokesman, Capt Petros Mabuza, two suspects hijacked a Toyota Siyaya combi at Letswalo Street.
“The driver managed to run away from the combi and he was chased by one of the suspects without a firearm.
“He then screamed for help and while the suspect attempted to run back to the combi, the complainant managed to catch the suspect with the assistance of community members,” says Mabuza.
The other suspect managed to flee the scene with the vehicle but the combi was later recovered near the Shell garage at Twelfh Road.
Police thanked the community for assisting the hijacked victim.
The suspect will appear soon at Tsakane Magistrate’s Court for hijacking.
