ETC reminds motorists to pay their e-toll – ‘New payment plan’

The Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) reminds motorists that they may enter into a payment plan for their e-toll debt.

The ETC, which manages the e-toll system on the SA National Roads Agency (Sanral’s) behalf, reminds motorists who are unable to pay their e-toll debt off in full, that they may make a payment plan.

“These arrangements must, however, be made by May 2 this year.

“Those who enter into the payment plan will then have until November to settle their outstanding debt completely, depending on the amount owed,” says Skhumbuzo Macozoma, CEO of ETC.

“It is important that road users call the Less60 call center on 087 353 1490 (8am – 8pm weekdays and 8am – 1pm on Saturdays) to make arrangements to pay their outstanding debt in manageable increments.

“Once an agreement has been made, it’s vital that motorists stick to their payment plan.

“If they fail to do so, they will risk forfeiting their discount and have to pay their debt in full.

“Road users can visit an e-toll customer service centre or log onto the Less60 website www.less60.co.za, for information and once-off payment; however payment arrangements can only be made through the Less60 call centre,” he says.

He further adds that ETC recognises the need to accommodate motorists who want to pay their e-tolls but are unable to due to financial constraints.

By giving people the opportunity to enter into a six-month payment plan, ETC is offering them a solution to settling their e-toll debt.

“We would like to advise all road users that have not yet paid their e-toll accounts fully to do so before their window of opportunity comes to an end,” Macozoma says.

Since the 60% e-toll discount was offered there has been positive feedback from motorists.

The number of people paying their e-tolls is increasing.

Motorists are urged to contact the call centre at their earliest convenience.
