The recovery took place on May 28, at around 11am, on Motlareng Street, in KwaThema, with the assistance of a vehicle tracking system after the vehicle was abandoned.
“Fortunately, the owner of the vehicle was not harmed during the hijacking.
“The Ford Bantam was also found intact, with its original licence disc and registration plates untouched.
“As it is procedure, once the forensics were completed, the vehicle was taken to SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni,” explains EMPD spokesman, Wilfred Kgasago.
