BREAKING: Two women shot at a funeral

Second victim of Tsakane shooting still alive.

Tsakane – Two women aged 29 and 36 years old were shot at while attending a funeral yesterday (Thursday) in Sindane Street, Tsakane leaving the 36-year-old dead.

According to Capt Petros Mabuza spokesman for the Tsakane Police Station, at around 9am, while the people attending the funeral were proceeding to the cemetery, a man (age unknown) allegedly started firing shots at the crowd.

The 36-year-old was declared dead on the scene by paramedics while the 29-year-old was rushed to Pholosong Hospital for medical treatment.

According to the investigating officer, the 29-year-old victim was still alive and in hospital on Friday morning when they interviewed her.

It is believed that the suspect is a friend of the deceased man whose funeral the two women were attending.

On Friday morning the police took in a 33-year-old man for questioning regarding the shooting.

The police are currently investigating cases of murder and attempted murder.
