Kwathema – Daitonic Family and Bhungane Modelling have merged music and pageantry to create a competition like no other.

Tebogo ‘Bunny’ Nyathi and Linda Tokhwe, the Daitonic musical duo, were inspired to step out and do something creative for their brand.

“The group was established in 2013 and although we have been composing and recording, we are only preparing for our debut album now,” explains Bunny.

Linda says that while they were brainstorming ways to make the brand a household name, they were inspired to create a pageant.

“We met with Xabiso Skiti, founder of Bhungane Modelling to merge our music with a pageant and create something unique.”

Xabiso says that unlike any other beauty pageant, Mr and Miss Diatonic will draw a lot of inspiration from music.

“We are hoping to attract contestants who are music lovers.”

One of the prizes for the winners will be a guaranteed spot in the music video of one of the group’s singles next year.

Anyone interested in auditioning for the competition which will take place on October 28, should send a Whatsapp text with their name, surname, age, a half and full length photo, to 071 652 4049 (Standard rates apply).

Closing date for entries is 15 September.

Daitonic Family will be performing at Legends Village in Phomolo on August 26.
