Mighty Bangers helps young people stay away from drugs.

KwaThema – Mighty Bangers is a dance group from kwaThema which aims to gather young people to do something positive in order to reduce substance abuse and crime.

The group was formed in 2017 by Thabang Molosi, a 21-year-old from Extension Three in KwaThema.

It keeps the youth preoccupied with something that helps them to focus while keeping fit at the same time.

The Mighty Bangers has grown from just being a local dance group. They now even have aspiring local hip-hop artists who foresee themselves signing up with big recording companies in the future.

The group’s vision is to one day become the best dance crews worldwide, performing with established artists.

Molosi says young people resort to crime and drugs because of the lack of activities that keep them busy.

They put their lives in danger and jeopardise their future.

“I decided to combine my God-given talent and passion, to do something positive for the community,” he says.
