Women-led event invites women to share their life stories

Snako Enterprise is calling on women to share their life stories during an event where guests will give advice on healing.

Women in KwaTsaDuza will have the opportunity to share their stories, find support, and begin their healing journeys at the ‘In Pain I Found Myself: From Pain to Power’ Women’s Healing Programme, taking place at Cafe 69 in Kwa-Thema on November 7.

Snako Enterprise founder and CEO Nomvula Kutuka will host the event, telling African Reporter that it aims to create a safe space where women can confront their pain, rebuild their identities, and draw strength from one another.

The event comes at a time when gender-based violence (GBV) continues to affect women and families across South Africa.

She said that through conversations around healing, self-worth and sisterhood, she hopes to encourage women who may be struggling in silence to recognise their strength and know they are not alone.

For Kutuka, hosting the programme is deeply personal, as she hopes to use her own experiences to help other women find the strength to move forward.

“Hosting In Pain I Found Myself: From Pain to Power is not just an event; it is a calling. In South Africa, GBV is not just a statistic but is the pain of our sisters, our mothers, and our daughters.

“I hosted this healing programme because I turned my own pain into power, and I know many women are suffering in silence.

She shared that the event is a safe space for women to embrace their story, heal through sisterhood, rebuild their identity, and rise strong together. It means everything to her because when one woman heals, an entire generation follows.

The programme will explore seven topics focused on healing and personal growth.

These include embracing one’s story, healing through sisterhood, self-compassion practices, rebuilding identity, setting boundaries and understanding self-worth, mindful breathing and reflection, and rising strong together.

Kutuka hope the discussions will encourage women to reflect on their experiences, develop healthier relationships with themselves and others, and find the courage to move forward.

The event will also include guests such as artist Ntunja, Ntombizanele Dubula, and many more.

The programme will run from 10:00 to 16:00. Attendees are encouraged to dress elegantly in black and gold. Women interested in attending can contact Kutuka on 078 339 6244 for ticket information.
