Whistles to fight school break-ins
“The campaign is ongoing and will see the distribution of the whistles at all 17 schools in Duduza."
Duduza – Duduza SAPS launched the Blow the Whistle Against School Burglaries campaign on Saturday.
During the campaign, 200 whistles were distributed and handed over to residents in households adjacent to the Mmuso Primary School in Sotho section.

The police teamed up with other community NGOs and government departments.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka says the objective of the campaign was to equip the residents with whistles in order to blow whenever they witnessed or have information on criminal activities in local schools.
“The whistles were donated by local companies, including Afrisam, Seton Leather and KBF Holdings, who pledged support to efforts aimed at safeguarding the schools their employees’ children attend.
Are our children safe at schools? Are teachers safe at schools?
“The campaign is further aimed at addressing the scourge of school burglaries.
“The campaign is ongoing and will see the distribution of the whistles at all 17 schools in Duduza,” he explains.
