Prepare for peak travel periods this Easter
SANRAL cautions motorists to be alert while on the roads this Easter.

For many community members the long Easter weekend offers the ideal opportunity to escape reality for a little while.
With this in mind SANRAL has sent a warning to motorists to prepare for the peak travel period.
During these periods traffic conditions can be demanding and stressful.

Drivers are, therefore, advised to plan their trips in advance and be aware of road and weather conditions ahead.
Motorists are further urged to remain patient and courteous, stay alert and take regular rest stops during their journey.
Traffic volumes are expected to be exceptionally high in the following areas during these times:
N3 Toll Route:
• April 18 – N3 southbound will experience high traffic volumes between noon and midnight.
• April 19 – N3 southbound will experience high traffic volumes between 5am and 3pm.
• April 22 – N3 northbound will experience high traffic volumes between 9am and 9pm.
N4 TRAC Toll Route:
• April 18 – N4 eastbound will experience high traffic volumes between 1pm and 6pm.
• April 22 – N4 westbound will experience high traffic volumes between 10am and 9pm.

N1/N4 Bakwena Toll Route:
• April 18 – N1 northbound will experience high traffic volumes between noon and 9pm.
• April 19 – N1 northbound will experience high traffic volumes between 9am and noon.
• April 20 – N1 northbound will experience high traffic volumes between 6am and 8am.
• April 22 – N1 southbound will experience high traffic volumes between 9am and 9pm.
