Women encouraged to try out new sport
“This is a campaign to promote different sporting codes and to do away with the mentality that certain sports are for men and others are reserved for women.”
KwaThema – While many view weightlifting as a male-dominated sporting code, a campaign, which was held at the KwaThema Sport Complex on April 20, was aimed at creating awareness and breaking stereotypes when it comes to certain sports.
The aim of the event was to introduce and educate locals about the variety of sporting codes, including weightlifting.
