Rand Show still Joburg’s best day out
The Rand Show is celebrating its anniversary by giving big to the attendees who stand a chance to win prizes, like trips to the Kingdom of Lesotho and Kirstenbosch in Cape Town, a custom designed kitchen and a VW Polo.

Nasrec – The 125th annual Rand Show was off to a great start with the first weekend being a great success.
The special anniversary edition of Joburg’s best day out includes a games pavilion that caters to the whole family, which includes a cosplay contest, a fortnight tournament and PlayStation games.

Mike Bray, marketing manager of the Rand Show, says: “Gaming is an extremely important part of youth and even family culture now. It is a growing sector and we wanted to make sure everyone attending would enjoy Joburg’s best day out.”
The show also includes Rand Show staples like an exhibition by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).

Among the exhibitors was the World of Motoring presented by Bravo entertainment.
The interactive exhibition allows attendees to be inside a racing car.
Edwin Moremane, who works at the exhibition, says: “Our advanced drivers allow two passengers in the Mini Cooper S or the Mini Clubman John Cooper Works and race around the course.

“It is lovely seeing excited little faces after the race when their driver wins the race against that of their parents.”
African Reporter journalist Doreen Mokgolo got a front-seat experience in the Mini Clubman John Cooper Works.
“The 45-second ride was absolutely exhilarating and gets a tick as one of the items on my bucket list,” she says.
“I would recommend it to anyone attending the Rand Show.”
The Rand Show runs until April 28.
